This is Good News…

As we enter the holiday season Dr. Rebecca Naylor will be with us November 30.  Dr. Naylor helped create the Bangalore Baptist Hospital in India and was one of the first women to graduate from the surgery residency program at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  She went to India and helped countless hundreds of people.   Dr. Naylor will encourage us and I hope you will give generously to help Lori Jones, Monte and April Baker, Bo Neal, and Rebecca Henderson and all the other International Missionaries through the Lottie Moon Christmas offering.

Our “Hanging of the Green” will be December 7 with different families reminding us of the “reason for the season.”  December 14 is Christmas music and you know it will be outstanding so be sure and invite a friend or family member.  On December 21 we have Candlelight service and fellowship and somewhere in there we will go Christmas Caroling.  What a great way to celebrate the coming of our King!

Stronger marriages – I trust you are doing some “Fireproofing” by taking advantage of the Love Dare challenge.  More than 80 people received a “Love Dare” journal.  I am on day 23 now and being blessed by the things God is teaching me.  Donnie and Sandy Tucker are leading a couples “Fireproof” Bible study on Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 7:00.  The good news is marriages are being strengthened and God is being honored by our focus on this vital relationship.

The purchase of the 8.5 acres and the home adjacent to the church last fall at a cost of more that $500,000 was a huge faith challenge.  I am happy to report that the land debt is now less than $47,000 and could be completely paid off by the end of the year.  Thank you, Lord, for your blessings and thank you, God’s people, for your faithfulness and generosity.

 Serving Him gladly,

                                Pastor Steve

Join us in making a difference somewhere in the world for Jesus Christ.  Our students will be sponsoring “Operation Christmas Child”, a ministry of Franklin Graham.  The only cost is a shoe box of presents (we have lists of acceptable items) and the requested $7.00 postage to send the box.  Your shoe box will be sent to a needy child in another nation who needs to know the love of Christ.  This opens the hearts of children to receive the message of Christ as well as blessing them in a wonderful way during the Christmas season.  Please plan on filling a simple shoe box for the children across the world.  The boxes are due Nov. 23rd which will be ingathering day.
